Welcome back 7GH!

Welcome back - I hope you have all had a great Half Term break. The first half of the term has flown by, so now we are in school until Christmas. It is a long term - 8 weeks of school before we break up (Friday 21st December) so keep your chins up, keep putting the effort in you have been doing and you'll be fine. Might sound daft but look after yourselves too, as the cold nights (and mornings) draw in and try to stay safe and healthy through the dark wintery period.

Message from Mr Birch who is in charge of uniform standards:

"Coats should be plain and preferably dark and cannot be replaced by hooded sweatshirt type pullovers.

Scarves can be worn outside, but they should be plain scarves used for warmth rather than decoration scarves should not be worn inside school buildings.

Hoods should only be worn in the rain and hats are unacceptable past the school gates."

But standards in our form have always been high, so for 99.9% of you just keep doing what you are doing.

Remember to keep your fundraising ideas coming in - our charity will be announced sooon - and any spare coppers you have lying around: Remember our coin tower challenge for the last week.

Competition results

Well done to everybody who entered the competition - in the end it was very close! However, two pupils got 100% on the quiz so our own Abbi H (7GH) and Callum B (8RH) will both be receiving the prizes of the Hunger Games trilogy in due course. You both know your book villains!

Year 7 Parents' Evening - Next Thursday

Note to parents: Just a reminder that Year 7 Parents' Evening is next Thursday:
Thursday 11th October.

For those who are new to the school, this first evening will be a bit more informal than future Parents' Evenings. Instead of seeing up to 12 different teachers in one night, it will just be meeting with me. Though by this time, I will be armed with comments made by your child's subject teachers. I will talk through these comments and discuss how I believe the first month has gone. Therefore, for some, appointments may be a bit shorter than later evenings - don't be offended! If you feel there are issues to discuss, by all means we will sort these out on the night.

Thank you

Mr Howard

Fifa 13 for sale

Fifa 13 for Sale for Xbox 360
Amazon in their wisdom sent me two copies.
It says the Ultimate edition but the code for the “ultimate” content has been … misplaced … so it effectively is just the standard version.
Retails at £40, will do a quick sale for £35 – please ask me asap before bringing in £££ so you are not disappointed and are left with too much money on your person!!

What did you want to know before starting at Deyes?

http://wallwisher.com/wall/fromy6toy7

I would like you to do me a big favour in preparation for the Year 6 Open Evening. I would like you to post on the wall on the link above with a short response about your first month of High School.

I would like you to write a short review about how you have found the transition from Primary School to High school.

Please include:What have you enjoyed?
What have you found difficult?
What subject have you found the most interesting?
What did you wish you knew before you started?

This wall will be made available to year 6s visiting Deyes on Thursday evening so please take care with spelling and sentences.
